LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team tees off its spring schedule at the Mission Hill Invitational, on Monday, Jan. 28, at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
NM State's spring opener features an 18-hole individual play tournament between golfers from Idaho, hoist Long Beach State and UC Irvine. The one-round tournament begins at 11:50 a.m. MT with live scoring available on
GolfStat.
Play is set to take place on the Arnold Palmer Course at the Mission Hills Country Club. The course was designed in 1978 and was Palmer's first design in the desert. The 6,834-yard, par-72 layout features rolling fairways with many doglegs and strategic driving holes.
All six Aggies –
Pun Chanachai,
Dominique Galloway,
Kehler Koss,
Maria Prado,
Tiegan Taylor and
Angela Xu – are on the trip set to compete in the Golden State. Last season at the Mission Hills Invite featured Chanachai taking home first place as the only golfer to shoot under par at 70 (-2). Strong play from the Aggie golfers did not stop there with
Dominique Galloway shooting a one-over (73) to tie for fourth, followed by
Angela Xu who finished in eighth with a one-round total of 76 (+4).
Following the Mission Hills Invitational, the New Mexico State women's golf squad gets set for the Rebel/Beach Invitational at the Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, Nev. from Feb. 18-19.
