LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Aggie women's golf roster for the upcoming fall season is officially complete. Head Coach Danny Bowen has announced the signings of Linnea Olsson and Carina Stauffer to round out the squad.
 
Olsson, a native of Beddingestrand, Sweden, joins the Aggie team after competing at East Texas A&M during her freshman campaign. Her debut season was highlighted by a third-place finish at the Islanders Collegiate, where she finished eight over to earn the first top-five finish of her collegiate career and pace all Lions at the Corpus Christi Country Club. With this performance, she also earned Dixie Turman State Farm Agency Student-Athlete of the Week honors. Additionally, Olsson posted seven rounds of par or better last season, including shooting a 5-under 67 in the final round of the Diamanté Intercollegiate.
 
"We're excited for Linnea to join our team," Coach Bowen stated. "It's always important for us to add a piece to the roster that will not only be a hard worker, but a great teammate also and we believe she'll fit that role nicely.
 
"During the course of her freshman year, Linnea showed that she has the ability to shoot under par and has the potential to be a consistent scorer as well. I think she'll really do well with competing against better competition and having that extra push from teammates in practice every day. We'll look for her to provide depth in the lineup for us right away."
 
Stauffer, a native of Buonas, Switzerland, will enter her true freshman season with the Aggies. Stauffer is a member of the Swiss National Team and has put forth several solid performances throughout her junior career. Late last year, she finished T11 in a field of 100 at the French International Ladies Championship. She also recently placed T37 in a field of 101 at the German International Amateur Championship in early May.
 
"Carina brings a lot of international experience to our roster," Coach Bowen said. "She's a dedicated player with a lot of intangibles. I know team golf will bring out the best in her, so we're eager for her to get started with us soon."
