LAS CRUCES, N.M – The New Mexico State diving team heads to Colorado Springs for the Air Force Academy Diving Invitational on Friday, Feb. 1, and Saturday, Feb. 2., at the Air Force Academy.
Â
"The Air Force Diving Invite is always an exciting one. The last time we were here in 2017 the girls had tremendous success and I'm positive we will have that again this weekend," said diving coach
Miranda King. "The set-up is a little different than normal as we will be competing 3 meter on Friday and platform on Saturday and not competing 1 meter. The divers have been training hard since returning to campus after Christmas and our platform training in January. There will be forty girls competing this weekend from ten universities. This is our second to last meet before the WAC Conference Championships and I'm excited to see how the girls perform."
Â
Aggie divers are set to contest the 3m starting at 9 a.m. (MT) on Friday, Feb. 1. NM State divers will contest the Platform even on Saturday, Feb. 2.Â
Â
The list of teams that are competing in the AFA Diving Invite includes Air Force, Boise State, BYU, California Baptist, Colorado Mesa, Colorado State, Denver, New Mexico State, Utah and Wyoming.
Â
The New Mexico State swimming and diving team concludes the regular season when Grand Canyon visits the Mesilla Valley on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex.
