DENVER – Italia Aranzabal picked up her second Western Athletic Conference Diver of the Week award after a setting a school record and qualifying for Zones last week in San Antonio, the league announced Thursday.
 
On Dec. 16, the freshman won both the 3m and 1m against UIW and Trinity College. Her score of 275.90 on the 1m qualified her for NCAA Diving Zones at the end of the season. Then, she followed that up with a school record 314.35 on the 3m in a mid-week meet scoring against Trinity.
 
This is the second Diver of the Week honor for Aranzabal who also earned the honor for the week of Oct. 8.
 
The Aggies return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 4, when they CSU Pueblo at 11:30 a.m. As always, all NM State swimming and diving home meets are free to attend.
