HUMBLE, Texas – The final round of the All-American Intercollegiate has been cancelled due to rain in the area around the Golf Club of Houston on Tuesday. Final results for the tournament are set from scores in the first two rounds which saw the New Mexico State men's golf team finish in a tie for 13
th place finish after firing a 301-303—604 (+28).
Team play for the Aggies was led by
Ryo Harada and
Mike McGilton who each fired a 146 (+2) and tied for 20
th. Harada led the Aggies with eight birdies and McGilton finished second in the tournament field with a team-high 28 holes for par.
These golfers were followed by
Niall Powell who fired a 154 (+10) to tie for 63
rd.
Tadhg Campbell and
Garrison Smith rounded out the NM State lineup in a tie for 77
th as each Aggie shot a 159 (+15) at tournament's end.
At the early conclusion of the All-American Intercollegiate, the team leaderboard saw Sam Houston State finish in first place with a team score of 573 (-3), followed by No. 37 Baylor and host Houston in a tie for second at 578 (+2) and the top-five was completed by No. 34 South Carolina and Charlotte in a tie for fourth at 582 (+6).
For the next tournament, the New Mexico State men's golf team remains in the Lone Star State for the Border Olympics, scheduled for March 11-12, in Laredo, Texas.
