LAS VEGAS – The New Mexico State women's golf team completed the final two rounds to wrap up play at the Rebel/Beach Invitational on Tuesday at the Spanish Trail Country Club. At tournament's end, the Aggies finished with scores of 317-317-309—943 (+79) to finish in 15
th place.
The Crimson & White led all teams at the event on Par 3 scoring at 2.85 (-3) and also finished second in the tournament with 13 birdies.
Pun Chanachai led NM State individuals in the event after carding a 76-78-70—224 (+8) that saw the golfer finish in a tie for 13
th. The junior also finished in a tie for third across the tournament field with four birdies. After Chanachai was
Dominique Galloway who fired a 78-80-81—239 (+23) to tie for 66
th.
Kehler Koss finished in 69
th with a scorecard of 83-78-80—241 (+25). Koss also led the NM State squad and finished in a tie for sixth among all individuals in Par 5 coring at 4.75 (-1). Then
Maria Prado and
Tiegan Taylor rounded out the Aggie lineup in a tie for 75
th as each shot a 243 (+27).
Following the completion of the Rebel/Beach Invite, the team leaderboard featured Arizona taking home first place with a team total of 878 (+14), followed by co-host UNLV in second at 882 (+18) and Virginia completed the top-three and shot an 892 (+28).
The New Mexico State women's golf team now gets set for the Bruin/Wave Invitational next week in San Luis Obispo, Calif. from Feb. 25-26.
