SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The New Mexico State women's golf team wrapped up play against a loaded field in the Bruin/Wave Invitational at the San Luis Obispo Country Club on Tuesday. The Aggies carded a 307-314-313—934 (+70) to finish in 12
th and ahead of Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico.
Play for the NM State individuals was led by
Pun Chanachai who fired a 76-74-76—226 (+10) to finish in a tie for 12
th, besting 13 top-100 players in the tournament, including four within the top-10.
Dominique Galloway followed with a 75-78-79—232 (+16) to tie for 39
th.
Finishing in a tie for 45
th, just one stroke behind Galloway,
Tiegan Taylor shot a 78-79-76—233 (+17).
Maria Prado finished in 71
st with a three-round score of 78-83-83—244 (+28) and
Kehler Koss rounded out the Aggie lineup at 78-86-82—246 (+30) to tie for 74
th.
At the end of the Bruin/Wave Invite, No. 5 Stanford took home the team title after shooting an 895 (+31), followed by No. 42 Oregon with a team score of 898 (+34) and No. 17 Arizona State completed the top-three at 899 (+35).
The New Mexico State women's golf team now looks ahead to the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. that takes place from March 11-12 on the Sewailo Golf Course.
