LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State track and field team opens the outdoor season with the UTEP Springtime on Friday, March. 15. The two-day meet takes place at Kidd Field and is hosted by the Miners.
 
The Aggies come into the new season after finishing second at the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. Asjah Wallace was named the Outstanding Track Performer and the High Point Award winner following the meet. Individually, the junior finished first in the 60m hurdles (8.45) and second in the 200m (24.34). She was also on the 4x400m relay that took home the gold with a time of 3:45.22.
 
Friday's field events start with the hammer throw at 11 a.m. MT. The women's 3,000m also takes place on Friday at 9:40 p.m. Saturday's events begin with the 4x100m relay at 12:35 p.m.
