TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State women's golf team wrapped up play at the two-day, three-round Wildcat Invitational at the Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. on Tuesday. At tournament's end, the Aggies carded a 302-313-312—927 (+63) to finish in 11
th place, two strokes ahead of Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico.
Individual play on the NM State squad was led by
Pun Chanachai who fired a 77-76-74—227 (+11) to finish in a tie for 22
nd. Chanachai's play saw her finish ahead of two top-50 and one top-100 golfer, as well as post a 4-0-1 record against Western Athletic Conference golfers at the Wildcat Invite.
Dominique Galloway followed just behind with a card of 74-78-80—232 (+16) to tie for 42
nd.
Just one stroke behind Galloway was
Kehler Koss who shot a 73-77-83—233 (+17) to tie for 46
th.
Maria Prado who shot a 78-89-75—242 (+26) tie for 77
th and
Chantal Dueringer rounded out the Aggie lineup in 89
th at 81-82-85—248 (+32).
At the end of the tournament, the team leaderboard saw No. 17 Arizona State take home first place with a score of 886 (+22), followed by No. 32 Oregon in second at 893 (+29) and host No. 9 Arizona completed the top-three with a third-place total of 894 (+30).
With the conclusion of the Wildcat Invitational, the New Mexico State women's golf team now makes a trip back to Arizona for the Red Rocks Invitational, March 23-24, at the Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz.
