KANSAS CITY – New Mexico State head men's basketball coach Chris Jans was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Coach for District 6 as voted on by his peers while junior guard Terrell Brown was named NABC Second-Team All-District for District 6 as well.
 
After taking the Aggies to the Big Dance for the second-straight year while also claiming both the regular-season and tournament championship, Jans also guided the Aggies to their winningest season in program history with a 30-5 overall record. The two-time WAC Don Haskins Coach of the Year also became the fastest head coach in Aggie history to reach 50 wins.
 
New Mexico State's 19-game win-streak that ended with a 78-77 loss to fifth-seeded Auburn in the First-Round of the NCAA Tournament gave the 2018-19 squad the third-longest winning-streak in program history.
 
In addition, Jans was recently named a finalist for the Hugh Durham Award – which is presented annually to the nation's top mid-major coach. No stranger to accolades, Jans was selected by his peers as the 2015 NABC Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year for first-year head coaches.
 
A product of Hayard, Calif., Brown paced the Aggies for the majority of the season in scoring and ended his first year in the Crimson & White averaging 11.3 points while leading the team with 66 made shots from 3-point range and a .420 shooting clip from beyond the arc.
 
The crafty guard also earned First-Team All-WAC honors after averaging 12.9 points in league play. Brown was also named to the WAC All-Tournament time after knocking down nine 3-pointers during the tournament.
