SAN MARCOS, Texas – New Mexico State track and field closed its run at the Bobcat Invitational at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex on Saturday.
Hannah Smith took home the gold in the triple jump when she posted a mark of 12.59m (41-3.5) on her final jump.
Takiyah Johnson clocked in 25.07 for the 200m to place 37
th.
Keosha Sanders ran 25.38 to take 51
st in the event.
Arniesha Mitchell posted a time of 14.36 when she placed 15
th in the 100m hurdles.
In the 800m,
Leah Salazar was the top Aggie finisher, taking home 25
th with a time of 2:19.02.
Elana Kresl followed closely behind her teammate, finishing in 28
th when she ran 2:19.90.
For the javelin,
Kayli Farmer took home seventh when she threw 40.76m (133-8).
Andi Harrelson followed closely behind with a mark of 40.13m (131-8) for eighth.
Alyssa Covarrubia placed 16
th in the event, throwing 37.15m (121-10).
Sam Ponds led the NM State squad in the shot put when she placed 19th, throwing 13.42m (44-0).
Yemisi Oroyinyin followed in 20
th when she recorded a mark of 13.31m (43-8).
Emily Hernandez finished in 31
st when she threw 11.96m (39-2.75).
The Aggies are back in action at the Ross Black Invitational from Hobbs, N.M., on April 12.
