TUCSON, Ariz. – New Mexico State track and field concluded its regular season with the Desert Heat Classic at Roy P. Drachman Stadium on Saturday.
Lashira Tremble took eighth in the 100m dash when she recorded a time of 11.79.
Keosha Sanders took home 11
th when she ran 11.86. For the 200m,
Camira Haughton ran 24.37 for tenth place. Tremble also competed in the event and clocked in a time of 24.72 to finish in 17
th place.
In the 100m hurdles,
Telecia Briscoe came in 11
th place when she posted a time of 13.88.
Arniesha Mitchell placed 14
th when she ran 14.12.
Elizabeth Mendoza finished 10
th in the 400m hurdles when she ran 1:03.61.
For the 400m, Haughton was the top finisher when she ran 55.64.
Lanie Whelpley (56.55) and
Takiyah Johnson (56.78) placed 18
th and 22
nd, respectively.
Crissey Amberg came in fifth in the 800m when she ran a personal best time of 2:12.14.
Nicolette Pacheco clocked in at 2:18.11 to take eighth in the event.
Richelle Sandin came in 14
th in the 1,500m, clocking in at 4:52.41.
The 4 x 100m relay team of
Asjah Wallace, Tremble, Sanders and Whelpley claimed fourth when they clocked in at 46.27.
Moselle De Los Santos, Mendoza, Amberg and Johnson ran 3:50.15 in the 4 x 400m relay to take home eighth.
In the discus,
Bristol O'Connor took home eighth when she threw a personal best mark of 45.53m (149-4).
Sam Ponds came in 11
th when she posted mark of 43.24m (141-10).
Yemisi Oroyinyin took fifth in the hammer throw, posting a personal-best mark of 54.62m (179-2).
Alyssa Watkins followed closely behind in sixth when she threw 53.48m (175-5).
Emily Hernandez placed 10
th (48.86m, 160-3) while
Kylie Pollard (48.47m, 159-0) finished in 11
th place.
For the javelin,
Kayli Farmer made the event finals and posted a mark of 41.00m (134-6) to place eighth.
Andi Harrelson (38.77m, 127-2) came in tenth while
Alyssa Covarrubia (32.65m, 107-1) finished in 16
th. Oroyinyin also came in tenth in the shot put when she posted a mark of 12.89m (42-3.50).
In the high jump,
Keyarha Wilson (1.67m, 5-3-3.75) took fifth while Farmer (1.62m, 5-3.75) finished in sixth. For the triple jump,
Hannah Smith came in fourth when she posted a mark of 12.12m (39-9.25).
The Aggies get set for the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. The three-day meet is set to take place in Orem, Utah from May 9-11.
