SACRAMENTO, Calif. – New Mexico State track and field started competition at the NCAA West Preliminary from Hornet Stadium on Thursday. Five athletes represented the Crimson and White during the first day at the three-day meet.
During the first round of the 100m dash,
Keosha Sanders placed 26
th, clocking in at 11.71.
Lashira Tremble also competed in the event, recording a time of 11.88 to come in 41
st.
In the 400m,
Camira Haughton clocked in with a time of 54.02 to finish in 30
th.
Crissey Amberg took home 41
st in the 1,500m race when the senior posted a time of 4:30.26 in the event.
Taniya Mitchell competed in the hammer throw and the senior recorded a mark of 57.54m (188-9) to finish in 34
th place.
Despite the solid effort on the track, the Aggie runners were unable to qualify for their respective event quarterfinals. Mitchell's historic season also came to a close at the NCAA meet.
NM State is not set to participate during the second day of competition but day three features
