SACRAMENTO, Calif. – New Mexico State track and field closed its season at the NCAA West Preliminary from Hornet Stadium on Saturday.
Hannah Smith was the lone competitor for NM State, participating in the triple jump where she finished 29th.
During her second-straight year competing in the event, Smith jumped 12.39m (40-7.75) on her final attempt, finishing the triple jump in 29
th place and also ending her season.
The 2019 campaign came to a close at the NCAA West Preliminary for the Aggie Track and Field program. Of the six athletes that qualified for the postseason meet, four senior's finished their careers at New Mexico State.
Taniya Mitchell and
Crissey Amberg leave their legacy as the program leaders in the hammer throw and the 1.500m, respectively.
Camira Haughton walked away from her senior season fourth all-time in the 400m at New Mexico State. Smith ranked third in the Aggie outdoor record books in the triple jump.
