LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team sets its sights on its 10
th NCAA Championship appearance when it heads to Tumble Creek Club in Cle Elum, Wash., as the 16 seed in the Cle Elum Regional on May 6-8.Â

This will be NM State's fifth trip to NCAA Regionals in the last six years and 22
nd trip overall.

The Aggies are joined by top-seeded and No. 1-ranked USC, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 South Carolina, No. 16 Northwestern, No. 19 Washington, No. 23 Miami, Oregon, San Jose State, Oregon State, Old Dominion, Iowa State, San Diego State, UCF, Ohio State, Sacramento State, Boston U and Southern Illinois.

NM State boasts two Western Athletic Conference Champions and WAC Player of the Years on its traveling roster in the junior duo of
Pun Chanachai and
Dominique Galloway. Chanachai captured the individual crown in 2017 and 2018 while Galloway won this season. Both golfers also finished top-3 in the WAC in stroke average with Chanachai (73.6) at second and Galloway (73.9) at third.

WAC Coach of the Year
Danny Bowen leads New Mexico State in his second season as head coach. During the season, NM State posted wins at the WAC Championship and the Red Rocks Invitational to go along with five other top-5 finishes. Bowen, previously an assistant under Jackie Booth, guided Chanachai to WAC Player of the Year honors in 2018 while guiding Galloway to WAC Player of the Year honors this season.

The Cle Elum Regional is set to feature 54 holes of stroke play spread across three days at Tumble Creek Club. Tumble Creek is a 6,306-yard, par-72 course where the Aggies also competed in the 2014 NCAA Regional. In all, 72 teams and 24 individuals not already participating for a qualifying team are selected for regional participation. Along with Cle Elum, this year's regionals are Auburn, Ala.; East Lansing, Mich.; and Norman, Okla.

After regional play, the six lowest-scoring teams and three lowest-scoring individuals not on a qualifying team earn a spot at NCAA Finals, set to take place at The Blessings Golf Club at the University of Arkansas May 17-22.
