Senior
Dominique Galloway set the tone for the NM State women's golf team on the opening day of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational Sunday.

She fired an even-par 144 over the first 36 holes of play, tying her for second and putting the Aggies in third place ahead of tomorrow's final round at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan. Galloway shot a one-under-par 71 in the first round before closing out her day with a one-over-par 73.

Sophomore
Amelia McKee and freshman
Alison Gastelum, meanwhile, are also sitting in the leaderboard's top 10 through the first two rounds. The duo is in a three-way tie with Rutgers' Maeve Rossi for 10
th at four-over-par 148.

Gastelum, playing in her first collegiate tournament, fired an even-par 72 in her first collegiate round. Her score was the Aggies' second lowest of the day.

Pun Chanachai and sophomore
Chantal Dueringer rounded out NM State's fivesome. Chanachai is tied for 29
th (154, +10), while Dueringer is tied for 35
th (156, +12).

As a team, the Aggies (594, +18) sit six shots behind leader and host institution Kansas State (588, +12). NM State was in first place following the opening round.

Tomorrow's final round begins with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. (MT).
