DALLAS – Following another top-five finish at the Cowgirl Classic last week,
Emma Bunch has been named the Energy Transfer Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week. This represents the 13
th time in her illustrious career that Bunch has garnered the league's weekly honor.
At the Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz., Bunch opened the tournament with a pair of 68's in rounds one and two and went on to conclude the week at nine-under to finish tied for fourth among a field of 116 competitors. This marked her fifth straight top-10 finish and 23
rd top-10 finish of her collegiate career. It also serves as her 15
th top-five finish as an Aggie.
On the week, Bunch ranked tied for second among the field in par-5 scoring with an average of 4.50 and was one of just five players with fewer than four bogeys. She also paced an Aggie squad that finished sixth out of 20.
This season alone, Bunch has collected four weekly awards, including three this spring. This is tied with WKU's Sydney Hackett and UTEP's Dylan Teeter for the most golfer of the week awards this season by any golfer in CUSA, including the men's side.
Bunch and the Aggies are currently preparing for the Conference USA Championship set to take place on April 20-22 in Frisco, Texas, at Stonebriar Country Club. There, Bunch will look to earn her third consecutive Conference USA individual title.
