Aggies set to host their annual inter-squad scrimmage.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State swimming and diving team is set to host its annual Crimson and White inter-squad meet at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. (MT). Admission to the event is free.

"With many new faces on deck this year the Crimson & White meet is important for many reasons," said head coach Rick Pratt.  "The goal for many is to race for the first time and see how all of our initial technique work is paying off.  Secondly, we want to practice great energy and spirit, no matter what the performances are like, the team needs to show their support for each other."

NM State is set to contest the 200 Medley Relay, 500 Free, 100 Free, 200 IM, 3m Dive, 100 Fly, 50 Free, 100 Back, 200 Free, 1m Dive, 100 Breast and the 200 Free Relay.

"We've been practicing harder and harder each week so far, so many are starting to get a little tired, but having some good performances will help us figure out our line-up against UNC who come here next week," added Pratt.  "We're excited to see how things start up."

The Aggies return 2018-19 200 Back WAC Champion Alix Knagg. The senior captured gold in the event with a time of 157:88. Pratt was also named WAC Coach of the Year for the fourth time after leading NM State to a second place finish at WAC Championships.

New Mexico State opens the regular season with a WAC meet when Northern Colorado visits the Mesilla Valley on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11:30 a.m. (MT). Admission to all meets at the Swimming and Diving Complex is free.
