LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's basketball team is set to host UT Rio Grande Valley in a rematch of last season's WAC Tournament Championship game at the Pan American Center on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m.

Scouting the Vaqueros
UT Rio Grande Valley sits at 8-10 overall with a 3-2 record in WAC play and is coming off a loss to Utah Valley. The last time the two teams met, NM State took down the Vaqueros 76-73 in double overtime in the WAC Championship game in Las Vegas on March 16, 2019.
 
UTRGV ranks fourth and fifth in scoring offense (67.6) and scoring defense (65.8) respectively in the WAC. It also boasts one of the top field-goal percentages in the league, ranking second with a 40.6 percent shooting clip.
 
The Vaqueros are led in scoring by Trelynn Tyler who averages 14.3 points per game. Jordan Agustus also averages double figures at 12.4 points per game.
