Scouting the Mustangs
Cal Poly is currently 0-1 and opened the season with a 108-40 loss to No. 2 Stanford. The Mustangs were 11-18 last season with a 6-10 record in Big West play. The former conference rivals have a 5-5 head-to-head record.

Cal Poly is led by senior Sierra Campisano who earned First-Team All-Big West honors after averaging 17.2 points and 8.1 rebounds a game last season. Also returning for the Mustangs is sophomore Abbey Ellis who averaged 15.6 points per game on her way to Big West All-Freshman team honors.

A Look at the Wave
Pepperdine has two games under its belt, opening the season with a 68-56 win over NAIA foe Westmont and taking down CSU Bakersfield 69-58. Last season in Las Cruces, the Wave took down the Aggies 72-69. Pepperdine finished the season with a 16-15 record and lost in the WCC Tournament semifinals to San Diego.

The Waves return their second-leading scorer from last season, Malia Bambrick, who averaged 10.4 points per game as well as WCC All-Freshman team honoree Jayla Rufus-Milner.
