LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State women's golf team is back in action after the lengthy winter break, opening up its spring campaign at The Gold Rush in Seal Beach, Calif.
The Aggies will compete in the two-day tournament hosted by Long Beach State at Old Ranch Country. The first and second rounds tee off Monday, Feb. 24, while the third and final round is played Tuesday, Feb. 25.
THE FIELD
Long Beach State welcomes in Georgia, Charlotte, Sacramento State, Fresno State, Minnesota, Boston College, UC Irvine, Brigham Young, Idaho, Santa Clara and Wyoming in addition to NM State.
Georgia won the event in 2018 before San Jose State, not competing in this season's tournament, won the team title in 2019.
THE AGGIES
NM State closed out its fall season with a strong showing at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown last time out.
Senior
Pun Chanachai's top-20 individual finish highlighted the trip to the Boulder City, Nev. The Bangkok, Thailand, native tied for 17
th place with a seven-over-par 223.
The Aggies took eighth place as a team, shooting a 40-over-par 904.Â
