LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Former NM State football standout Kyle Nelson will play on the biggest stage of his career Sunday night.
The San Francisco 49ers' long snapper will suit up when he and his teammates face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV Sunday inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT.
Nelson, who played at NM State from 2007-10, hauled in 66 passes for 559 yards and two touchdowns while with the Aggies. He broke out in his senior season, making 41 receptions for 371 yards and a touchdown.
NM State has three other former standouts in the NFL in addition to Nelson. Former linebacker
Terrill Hanks (Dolphins), wide receiver
Jaleel Scott (Ravens) and defensive back Winston Rose (Bengals) also represent the Aggies at the next level.
