ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge established to help student-athletes navigate electoral process

Coaches' Voter Registration and Engagement Pledge Signatories

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In addition to being focused on winning a fourth-consecutive Western Athletic Conference (WAC) title in the upcoming 2020-21 season, the NM State men's basketball team and its staff has also made a commitment to be locked in when it comes to making sure its players are able to navigate the electoral process.

The Aggies are one of 337 colleges and universities from around the nation who, through the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, have pledged to support their student-athletes in navigating the electoral process. NM State is the lone institution in the state and one of just two in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) that has taken the Coaches Voter Engagement Pledge.

The All IN Campus Democracy Challenge is a national awards program. By recognizing colleges and universities for their commitment to increasing student voting rates, the Challenge encourages higher education institutions to help students form the habits of active and informed citizenship, make democratic participation a core value on their campus, and cultivate generations of engaged citizens who are essential to a healthy democracy.

Heading into the 2020-21 season, NM State is riding a 19-game winning streak which ranks as the second-longest active run among all NCAA Division I men's basketball team. The Aggies have won each of the last three WAC regular season titles as well as each of the last two WAC Tournament crowns.
