LAS CRUCES, N.M. - From NM State to the NFL.
Two former Aggie football student-athletes took the field during Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season. Rookie running back
Jason Huntley made his pro debut with the Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers long snapper Kyle Nelson commenced his ninth season in the league.Â
Here's a quick recap of how NM State football alums fared in the first week of the season:
Jason Huntley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
- Had one carry for a one-yard gain, picking up an additional 15 yards from an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play, in the first quarter of Philadelphia's loss to Washington.
Kyle Nelson, LS, San Francisco 49ers
- Started at long snapper, but did not record any statistics in San Francisco's loss to Arizona.
Jaleel Scott, WR, New York Jets
- Member of the team's practice squad.
Winston Rose, DB, Cincinnati Bengals
- Member of the team's practice squad.
