LAS CRUCES, N.M. - After a lengthy layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aggie men's golf program is ready to return to action.
Head coach
Mike Dirks announced the squad's spring 2021 schedule on Friday. The campaign includes six regular-season tournaments, including five road trips to the Lone Star State.
New Mexico State opens its season at the Arizona Intercollegiate, hosted by Arizona, from Jan. 25-27 at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. The Aggies then compete in the All-American Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston, from Feb. 14-16 at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
NM State
tied for 13th at 30-over-par 882 during last season's Arizona Intercollegiate. Feshman
Trey Diehl led the way, carding an overall score of seven-over-par 220 to tie for 44th.
The Aggies close out the month of February at the Border Olympics, again hosted by Houston, from Feb. 22-23 at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas.
New Mexico State will hit the links only once during March. The Aggies travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the George Hannon Invitational, hosted by Texas, from March 15-16 at UT Golf Club.
The final two regular-season tournaments take place in April. NM State begins the month at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Rice, from April 5-6 at Westwood Country Club in Houston, Texas.
The regular season comes to a close at the Aggie Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M, from April 9-11 at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
The Aggies were set to compete in last year's editions of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic and Aggie Invitational before the season was suspended due to the pandemic.
The Western Athletic Conference Championship, meanwhile, is set to take place from April 30-May 2 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
