Doug Reynolds has picked up a key piece for the 2021 men's cross country team in the signing of Jacob Grosch.
"We are really excited to get Jacob on campus," Reynolds said. "Jacob has the potential be a key part to next year's team, and we are excited to see what he can do as an Aggie."
Grosch comes from Cypress, Texas, where he attended and ran for the Bridgeland Bears. Grosch led the Bears to four consecutive district championships and helped the Bears finish third in both regionals and state in 2020.
Grosch finished second at districts, 13th at regionals and was.a state finalist his senior year. He was awarded the team's "Most Improved" award in his junior and senior seasons.Â
"Jacob will be a great fit for our team," assistant coach
Joseph Rath said. "He is someone that loves the longer races, and he will get those opportunities in the 8k and 10k college races. He has a great foundation from the program he is coming from and is set up well to develop over his next four years with us. We're very excited to welcome him into the Aggie family."
Off the course, Grosch was a four-time member of the Academic Honor Roll. He was named to the academic all-state his junior and senior year. Grosch was also a member of National Honors Society.
Jacob is the son of Henry Grosch Jr. and Patricia Grosch. He has one sister, Montana, and is planning on majoring in fashion design and merchandising at NM State.
