Aggie Women Tally Team Victory at Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open

Amanda Radava collected the top finish for NM State, taking fifth overall.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State cross country began its 2025 season in a big way, with the women notching the team title, led by Amanda Radava's time of 17:44.49. Senior Valeria Macias Casas and junior Nia Allison followed right behind, putting a trio of Aggies in the top ten.
 
On the men's side, the team tallied a fifth-place finish, highlighted by Andrew Gibby's 18th-place finish.
 
The women's 5K kicked off the 2025 edition of the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open, with the runners dueling an unusually humid August morning in Las Cruces. Yiddiya Bifa of New Mexico Junior College collected the top finish with a time of 17:32.90, with Texas Tech's Lily Mather and New Mexico's Millie McClelland-Brooks rounding out the top three.
 
Amanda Radava was the first Aggie to cross the line, posting a new personal best time of 17:44.49 to finish fifth. Valeria Macias Casas notched a huge jump from her debut at the 2024 Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open, taking sixth overall with a time of 17:49.13. Missing last season due to injury, Nia Allison made a triumphant return, finishing sixth with a time of 17:53.93.
 
Marlene Mosqueda joined in on tallying a new personal best on Saturday, notching a time of 18:02.90 to take 11th overall. True freshman Ainsleigh Kasprick made her NM State debut, finishing 17th among the field with a time of 18:13.10. Sophomore transfer Eloïse Stuart posted a time of 18:42.79 in her Crimson & White debut.
 
Angela Korte (19:05.72), Murrie Dodge (19:23.93) and freshman Abigail Beam (19:23.94) rounded out the Aggies to finish in the top-half of the meet, with Brooke Kelly posting a time of 20:11.23 in her first meet as a member of NM State.
 
Khloi Bird (18:03.47, 13th), Jordan Torres (18:06.73, 15th) and Melany Mosqueda (21:58.45) competed as unattached runners.
 
In the men's edition of the 5K, Andrew Gibby tallied the top time among NM State entrants, finishing 18th overall with a time of 15:11.79.
A smattering of sophomores notched the next best results for the Crimson & White, with Orion Chavez (15:22.50), Leo Valenzuela (15:39.81), Angel Maese (16:05.44) and Gabriel Uranga (16:15.96) trailing Gibby.
 
Seniors Nick Allred (16:19.15) and Jonah Archer (16:24.98) made their final appearances in the meet.
 
Thomas Croshaw (14:28.78, 4th), Derick Castellanos (15:43.05), Kobe Rodriguez (16:48.32) and Quenton Metz (16:55.10) competed as unattached runners.
