TULSA, Okla. -- After the opening round of the event was delayed two hours, the NM State women's golf program finally opened action late Monday morning at the Dale McNamara Invitational hosted by Tulsa at the Golf Club of Oklahoma.

Originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. (MT), the event did not get going until 9:30 a.m. (MT) due to inclement weather from Sunday.

Once play began, the Aggies overcame a slow start, to finish the day in seventh place, ahead of nationally ranked Tulsa, UTSA, Kansas State, UTSA and Fresno State.

Led by Amelia McKee and Alison Gastelum who each sit at +3 overall, the Aggies fired a team score of +17 Monday. After shooting +14 as a team in the morning, NM State has rebounded through 14-16 holes of round two. The Aggies led by McKee, are just +3 as a team for round two.

After firing an opening round 77, McKee currently sits two-under par through 16 holes of the second round, while Gastelum has fired three birdies and three bogeys to sit at even par through 16 holes. Gastelum shot an opening round 75 to sit at +3 for the championship.

McKee and Gastelum are joined at +3 overall by teammate Alex Quihuis who used an opening round 73 to sit at +3 through 15 holes.

Led by Kendall Todd, who leads the 13-team field at -4 overall, UNLV sits at -3 as a team. The Rebels are 11 shots clear of second place Nebraska (+8).

BYU sits in third place at +13, followed by New Mexico, SMU and Sam Houston who are all tied for fourth at +15. The Aggies sit one shot clear of eighth place Fresno State (+18) and five shots ahead of UTSA (+22) who reside in ninth.

Texas State (+25), host Tulsa (+28), Kansas State (+37), and Lamar (+50) round out the 13-team field.
