@NMStateVBall Eyes Title Game Rematch

Aggies set to battle Lopes with WAC win streak on the line.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State volleyball team welcomes GCU for a rematch of the 2019 WAC Championship match at UTEP's Memorial Gym on Monday, Feb. 15, at 3 p.m. (MT) and Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 12 p.m.

Quick Hitters
• Nationally, the Aggies rank 13th with 14.50 kills per set, 15th nationally for hitting percentage (.293) and 16th nationally with 13.36 assists per set.  
 
• Middle blocker Lia Mosher leads the WAC with a .393 hitting percentage. Freshman Victoria Barrett ranks fourth in kills per set at 3.36.
 
• The Aggies rank top-three in the conference in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, assists per set, kills per set, blocks and aces per set. NM State's .293 hitting percentage leads the conference.
 
• Counting the WAC Tournament, NM State has won 28-straight matches against WAC opponents including a 24-match regular season winning streak.
 
Scouting the Lopes
GCU heads into this week's matchup with a 4-0 record and in a tie with NM State for first place in the WAC. Last season, NM State and Grand Canyon met three times with NM State sweeping all three meetings. The Aggies beat the Lopes in straight-sets in the 2019 WAC Championship match, 25-17, 25-23, 26-24.
 
The Lopes feature a high-powered attack with a .241 hitting percentage that ranks third in the WAC. Outside hitter Yeny Murillo has had an outstanding senior campaign so far and leads the WAC with 5.62 kills per set, which also ranks second nationally.
 
Last Time Out
The Aggies continued their hot start to the regular season with a pair of 3-0 sweeps at UT Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 8 and 9. The NM State offense was on fire, hitting .309 on the weekend while averaging 14.33 kills per set.
 
Shaney Lipscomb provided some fire power for the Aggies as she hit .333 and added six blocks. Savannah Davison and Victoria Barrett both dominated on the outside as Davison hit .277 with 19 kills in the two matches with Barrett hitting .279 with 18 kills.

NM State hits the road for a pair of matches at California Baptist on Monday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. (MT) and Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. Both matches are set to stream live on the WAC Digital Network.
