LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team is back in action with a pair of tournaments to open the 2021 season. The Aggies open the season on Friday, Feb. 26, at the Moorpark Intercollegiate in Moorpark, Calif., before traveling to Somis, Calif., for the Bruin Wave Invitational March 1-3.

 "I'm just excited for out group of girls," said head coach
Danny Bowen. "It's been almost a year now since our last tournament together and I've been really proud of how hard each of them has worked in practice and in the weight room and we've definitely seen some improvement over the last few weeks. Our qualifiers have been very competitive and now it's time translate that to competition on the road."

After last season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aggies are looking to defend their 2018-19 WAC title, their fifth championships in six years. NM State competed at the Cle Elum Regional with
Pun Chanachai finishing tied for 44
th following the 2018-19 campaign.

For this week's events, the Aggies are set to travel Chanachai,
Karen Miyamoto,
Alison Gastelum,
Amelia McKee, freshman
Arantza Armas Stenner and
Alex Quihuis.

Heading into the Moorpark Intercollegiate, Chanachai needs just two birdies to tie the school record and three to break the record.
