@NMStateVBall Set to Take On Seattle U March Third and Fourth

Aggies look to extend conference unbeaten streak in El Paso.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State volleyball team looks to extend its unbeaten streak with a pair of matches against Seattle U at Memorial Gym in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, March 3, at 3 p.m. (MT) and Thursday, March 4, at 12 p.m. The undefeated Aggies have won 28-straight conference matches, 12-straight sets, 24-of-27 sets played and eight-straight matches to start the year.
 
The matches were originally scheduled for March 1 and 2.

Quick Hitters
• Head coach Mike Jordan won his 500th match with a sweep of California Baptist on Feb. 22.    
 
• Nationally, the Aggies rank ninth in hitting percentage (.314), seventh with 15.00 kills per set and fourth in assists per set (13.85).   
 
• As of Feb. 28, among players with at least 50 attempts, Lia Mosher leads the WAC with a .394 hitting percentage. Katie Birtcil (.331) and Shaney Lipscomb (.328) rank sixth and seventh respectively.  
 
• Outside hitter Savannah Davison, the WAC Preseason Player of the Year, ranks second in the league with 3.67 kills per set. Davison has won the last two WAC Offensive Player of the Week awards.  
 
• The Aggies lead the WAC in hitting percentage (.296), opponent hitting percentage (.141), assists (13.76), kills (14.81) and blocks (2.62)
 
• Counting the WAC Tournament, NM State has won 32-straight matches against WAC opponents including a 28-match regular season winning streak.
 
Scouting the Redhawks
Seattle U is currently 1-5 through six WAC matches with its lone win coming 3-0 over Dixie State on Feb. 22. Last season, the Aggies swept the Redhawks in both matchups. NM State is 14-1 against Seattle U and has won the last 11 meetings between the two sides.
 
So far this season, the Redhawks have struggled on offense, ranking seventh in the WAC with a .158 hitting percentage and sixth with a .229 opponent hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Eve Kerschenbaum leads Seattle U's attack with 2.77 kills per set while middle Johnasia Carr has been solid on the block with 1.07 rejections per set.
 
Last Time Out
The Aggies hit the road to take on California Baptist on Feb. 22 and 23 at Van Dyne Gym in Riverside, Calif. NM State swept California Baptist twice to run its WAC win streak to 28 matches
 
On Feb. 22, Savannah Davison led an Aggie attack that hit .419 with 15 kills with Lia Mosher adding nine with no errors in a 25-12, 25-16, 15-20, sweep. Davison, Mosher and Lindsay Blakey each added four blocks while Katie Birtcil hit seven kills 12 swings with no errors. The Aggie win gave head coach Mike Jordan his 500th win.
 
NM State then hit .341 with 44 kills and just 10 errors in a 25-17, 25-19, 25-11, sweep on Feb. 23. Davison again led the Aggie attack with 13 kills while Freshman Victoria Barrett poured in 10 and Cat Kelly hit eight. NM State's block was great again as Blakey and Birtcil came away with five rejections each and Kelly and Mosher notched three apiece.
