EL PASO, Texas– The New Mexico State volleyball team swept Seattle U (25-13, 25-17, 25-18) at Memorial Gym in El Paso for the second-straight day to win its 30
th-straight Western Athletic Conference match on Thursday afternoon. The Aggies have won 18-straight sets and 30-of-33 sets played on the year.

"I thought we did a lot of good things, but mentally we made some mistakes, in the third set in particular," said head coach
Mike Jordan. "All in all, it was a good performance, so we figured it out eventually."

NM State (10-0, 10-0 WAC) picked up right where it left off yesterday, building a 15-7 lead midway through the first set. The Aggies then extended their lead to 20-11 before closing the set on a 5-2 run for the 25-13 set one final. NM State was particularly effective attacking the middle as
Lia Mosher finished with five kills in the set.

The Aggies and Redhawks (1-7, 1-7) then went blow-for-blow and were tied at 10 in the second set. Then, NM State went on a quick 8-3 run, capped a service ace from
Darian Markham, to take control of the set at 18-13. The Aggies kept Seattle U at bay the rest of the set to take it 25-17.

Victoria Barrett and
Savannah Davison got the Aggies started with back-to-back and an early 2-0 lead in the third set. Seattle U was able to tie up at two but NM State was able to get back in front and lead 15-10 at the media timeout. The Aggies then cruised to the 25-18 set three final to complete the sweep.

Davison and Barrett each finished with nine kills while Barrett recorded 15 digs and Davison 18. Mosher hit eight kills on a .583 hitting percentage with
Shaney Lipscomb also hitting eight kills while Mosher and
Lindsay Blakey added three blocks each.

On the day, the Aggies hit .361 on the day while serving up six aces and holding Seattle to .090 hitting. Markham recorded two aces and freshman
Alexi Brown served up her first-career ace. The setting duo of
Carly Aigner-Swesey and
Natalie Mikels were great again with Aigner-Swesey notching 20 assists and Mikels pouring in 16.

New Mexico State is back in action at Utah Valley on Monday, March 8, at 6 p.m. (MT) and Tuesday, March 9, at 12 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to stream live on the WAC Digital Network.
