DENVER – The New Mexico State women's golf team swept the three major WAC postseason awards as
Amelia McKee was named Player of the Year,
Alison Gastelum Freshman of the Year and
Danny Bowen coach of the year. Along with McKee and Gastelum,
Pun Chanachai was named First Team All-WAC for the fourth time in her career.

McKee finished the season as the team leader in stroke average at 74.82 and finished tied for eighth at the WAC Championship after shooting a five-over-par 221. The Spring, Texas, native also wrapped up the season ranked 282 in the NCAA individual rankings, tops in the WAC. McKee posted two top-10 finishes and four top-15 finishes on the season.

Gastelum picked up WAC Freshman of the Year honors after a solid season for the league-champion Aggies. Prior to the WAC Championship, Gastelum checked in at 318 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, the highest-ranked golfer in the conference. The Chihuahua, Mexico, native was clutch at the WAC Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club where she finished seventh after carding a four-over-par 220 for the week.

Joining Gastelum and McKee on the All-WAC First Team is Chanchai. A two-time WAC Player of the Year, Chanachai has been named First Team All-WAC every season she's worn the Crimson and White and captured the individual WAC Championship in 2017. The Bangkok, Thailand, native finished tied for third at this year's WAC Championship firing a two-over-par 218.

In just his fourth season at the helm, Bowen earned his second-straight WAC Coach of the Year award after guiding NM State to its 10
th WAC Championship as well as a win at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. The former NM State men's golf star has led the Aggies to back-to-back WAC titles and NCAA Regional appearances. Â Â

The Aggies now wait to find out which NCAA Regional they will head to with the NCAA Selection Show taking place on Wednesday, April 28, at 12 p.m. (MT), on the Golf Channel.
