@NMStateVBall Inks Peterson for Fall

Aggies sign Mia Peterson, daughter of former Aggie star.

LAS CRUCES, N.M.  – The New Mexico State volleyball team inked Mia Peterson for the fall 2021 season, head coach Mike Jordan announced on Friday.

"We're excited to have Mia join us," said Jordan. "She's going to be a very good player and she's a versatile attacker. She's got great energy, just like her mom [Angela Lobendahn-Peterson]."

Peterson, a native of Pleasant Grove, Utah, starred at Pleasant Grove High School. The outside hitter was named First Team All-State in 2019 and 2021 while leading the Vikings to a UHSAA state championship in 2019.  She was also named Prep Volleyball Honorable Mention All-American.

The 5-11 Peterson is the daughter of former Aggie star Angela Lobendahn-Peterson who ranks ninth in the NM State record books for career kills (1,250) and fifth in a single season when she hit 494 kills in 2000. Lobendahn-Peterson was also Jordan's first recruit at NM State.
