LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Redshirt junior long snapper
Austin Reeves has been named to the COSIDA District 7 All-District Academic Team, CoSIDA announced Thursday.
A native of Huntersville, N.C., Reeves has started 14 consecutive games at long snapper for the Aggies since transferring in from Virginia Tech before the 2018 season. A biochemical engineering major, Reeves was the lone long snapper to be recognized by CoSIDA from District 7.
The 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District football team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To be eligible, a student-athlete has to have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and have played in over 50 percent of the team's games on the season. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First and Second-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early July.
