DENVER – New Mexico State soccer junior forward
Hannah Leitner was named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday morning.
Â
The Tucson, Ariz., native was spectacular in two Aggie wins over the weekend. The speedster recorded one assist and drew the penalty that led to
Shea O'Connor's PK goal in a 2-0 win at UC Davis on Aug. 27.
Â
Leitner followed that up with a virtuoso performance against Nevada where she scored two goals and assisted a third in a 3-2 win on Aug. 29. The forward's showing over the weekend propelled the Aggies to their best start in program history as they remain undefeated at 3-0.
Â
NM State is back in action when it heads to Austin to take on Texas on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. (MT). Fans can stream all the action live on the Longhorn Network.
