Darian Markham was named Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Markham was instrumental in the Aggies' success at the Colonel Challenge, averaging 4.89 digs per set. The McKinney, Texas, native helped NM State hold its three opponents to a combined .077 hitting percentage. Against Western Carolina on Sept. 10, Markham recorded 20 digs in just three sets (6.67 D/S).

NM State now readies for its final nonconference weekend at the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla., from Sept. 17-18. The Aggies open the action against USF at 9 a.m. (MT) on Friday, Sept. 17. There is no stream but fans can follow along with
