LAS CRUCES, N.M. – National Signing Day treated
Danny Bowen and NM State women's golf well. The Aggies added four new members with two coming from high schools, one from the international ranks, and one as a graduate transfer.
Isabel Laulhé (Spring 2023)
Laulhé will come to Las Cruces from Argentina, where she has been tearing up the amateur tour. She'll make the international journey in the spring of 2023, joining the Aggies for the spring season. In eight tournaments throughout 2022, Laulhé has never finished below seventh place. In September, Laulhé won the Campeonato Abierto de Damas, shooting a 221. Before arriving in January, she'll compete in the Argentina National Championships and the Women's Amateur Latin America.
Bowen: "Bringing Isá in from Argentina mid-year is going to strengthen our Top 5 right away, as she's coming to us with quite a bit of international experience under her belt. She's shown her ability to compete at a high level, which will be a huge asset in big events. Her work ethic as well as outgoing personality and attitude will help make her teammates better throughout her time as an Aggie. We're excited to have the opportunity to coach her."
Angela Garvin (Fall 2023)
The Aggies add a big-time Big Ten talent in Garvin as she will graduate transfer for the 2023 season. A four-year member of the Terrapins, Garvin has been a staple in the Maryland lineup. Garvin was an alternate at the 2021 National Championships and has competed in the Big Ten Championships. She also shines in the classroom as is a two-time member of the Academic All-Big Ten team.
Bowen: "Angela is coming to us as a graduate student following her graduation from the University of Maryland. She's had a great career as a Terapin, and we're looking forward to her bringing that experience to our lineup next year. Best of all, she'll be able to take advantage of our year round golf weather. Her game is solid, and she's an excellent student as well. Angela is going to love her time here as an Aggie!"
Camille Pazouki (Fall 2023)
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Pazouki will join the Aggies in the for the 2023-24 season. Pazouki helped lead Reagan High School win its first state championship in May. As an individual, Pazouki finished third in the Region IV-6A Championship, posting a stellar score of 69.
Bowen: "We're excited to have Camille join us next year. Her enthusiasm and love for the game, as well as her desire to always go the extra mile in whatever she does, is what stood out the most during the recruiting process. Camille is an extremely hard worker and the drive to get better is what will propel her the most. We're looking forward to coaching her and seeing her shine as an Aggie. "
Alex Armendariz (Fall 2023)
The Las Cruces kid is staying home! As an individual, Armendariz won the New Mexico 5A state championship in 2021. The following season, Armendariz helped Centennial High School win its first state championship and finished second individually. Recently, Armendariz has credited NM State's Aidan Thomas with improving her game.
Bowen: "Alex is a local talent who has seen steady improvements over the last couple of years, so we're glad she chose to stay home and be an Aggie. Her demeanor on the golf course is what separates her from competition and she values hard work. Having won multiple state titles both individually and as a team with Centennial High, I have no doubt she'll be an outstanding teammate and will fit in well with our team culture. Always good to have NM student-athletes on the roster!"
