Jordan Announces Addition of Class of 2023 Middle Blocker Mia Daniel

Daniel brings size and athleticism to future Aggie squad

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Signing day brought the addition of a pair of talented future Aggies on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Outside hitter Mia Daniel from Missouri City, Texas, officially signed her national letter of intent to help with the departure of outside hitters Molly Johnson and Katie Birtcil after this season.

  • In total, Daniel spent three years at the varsity level at Hightower High School where she paced the Hurricanes in hitting percentage and blocks during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
  • She recorded 2.2 kills per set while registering a team-high .377 hitting percentage across 98 sets during her senior season.
  • Daniel concluded her final season at Hightower with a team-best 92 total blocks (24 solo, 68 block assists) to finish just shy of posting one block per set (0.9 bps).
  • Also managed to post 0.8 digs per set as she tallied 75 total digs during her final season with the Hurricanes.
  • Her dominance was also recognized by being named one of Texas' top blockers in the class of 2023 by lonestarpreps.rivals.com.
  • Daniel was also a force at the net in her junior season as she led the Hurricanes in hitting percentage (.368) and total blocks (140). She also ranked third on the team in kills per set – averaging 1.7 per set.
  • As a junior, Daniel appeared in 116 of the Hurricanes' 122 total sets.
  • In 2020, she finished her sophomore campaign with a .240 hitting percentage and 47 total blocks while playing in 56 of a possible 64 sets.
  • The tall, athletic front-row player played mostly middle blocker in high school, but also has experience on the right side.
