TEEING OFF
• For the first time since October 11-12, the NM State women's golf team will hit the links for The Gold Rush, hosted by Long Beach State.
• In the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by Tulsa, the Aggies finished in seventh place.
Alison Gastelum led the team with a seventh-place finish.
• The NM State lineup consists of
Amelia McKee,
Meiji Tungprapunvong,
Valentina Origel, and Arantza Armas.
• NM State will compete against Cal State San Marcos, CSUN, Fresno State, Hawai'I, Northern Illinois, Pepperdine, Sam Houston, UCLA (A), UCLA (B), USC, Wyoming, and the host, Long Beach State.
• In the fall season, NM State's best finish came at the Aggie Invitational in Las Cruces. As a team, the Aggies shot 876 and finished in second place.
• USC comes in as the defending champions of The Gold Rush. In the ninth edition of the tournament, the Trojans shot an even 864 to win the event.
• The tournament will begin with two rounds on Monday and a third and final round on Tuesday.
COMING UP NEXT
• After returning from California, the Aggies will head into the heart of Texas to compete in the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU. Held at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, the tournament will take place on March 7 and 8.
