LAS CRUCES, N.M. āĀ Sunday was for the Aggies as the NM State baseball team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Seattle U at The 'Skew.Ā The Aggies pitching staff tossed their second shutout of the season to take the first Sunday game in conference play.

Ian Mejia threw an eight-inning gem for the Aggies on Saturday. Through the first three innings, Mejia faced just one over the minimum ā A leadoff single in the first inning.Ā Ā

NM State struck first in the third inning with five straight hits to open the inning.
Cal Villareal,
Tommy Tabak,
Brandon Dieter, and
Gunner Antillon all singled to kick off the inning with Dieter and Antillon driving in runs.
Logan Gallina broke the single train with a two-bagger to left to drive in the third run of the inning.
Preston Godfrey pushed the Aggie lead to four when he bounced out to the shortstop, scoring Antillon.Ā

Cal Villareal dropped a safety squeeze to score
Kevin Jimenez in the sixth inning.Ā With two away, Dieter laced a single into right field, scoring
Ryan Grabosch and giving Aggies a six-run lead.Ā Ā

The Aggies added a run in the seventh inning before adding two more in the eighth inning on a Dieter home run. The second home run of the season for Dieter pushed the Aggie lead to nine runs and helped wrap up a Sunday win.Ā
