Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAS VEGAS - The Aggies returned to Eller Media Stadium for a pair of games on day two of the Boyd Gaming classic, dropping game one to Houston 11-7 and game two against UNLV 13-5. Ramsay Lopez kept her hot streak going, combining to hit 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI while drawing three walks on the day. Maya Martinez also had an impressive day, going a combined 3-for-7 with a home run, a double and seven RBI.

Game One | NM State 7, Houston 11
Felicia De La Torre (1-5) started in the circle for the Aggies, allowing 7 runs with a strikeout in 1.1 innings pitched.

Saleen Flores (1-3) picked up the win for UNLV, going 1.0 innings allowing one hit and recording a strikeout.

Houston scored the first run of the game off an RBI single by Schulte and went on to end the inning with a 4-0 lead. More of the same followed in the second when the Cougars hit a three-run blast to grow their lead to 7-0. Jordin King entered the game for De La Torre, recording her first strikeout of the day on a pitch that caught the outside corner. The Cougars would add two more runs before the inning was over to procure a 9-0 lead.

In the top of the third, the Aggies loaded the bases before Yazzy Avila knocked an RBI single through the infield gap to put NM State on the board. Jillian Taylor came into the game for Riley Carley and hit a sacrifice fly to left field, easily scoring Tanori from third, turning it into a 9-2 ballgame.

Jordin King allowed a leadoff single in the bottom of the third before settling into a rhythm and generating a swinging strikeout to end the inning unscathed. In the top of the fifth, Yazzy Avila and Jillian Taylor reached second and third base before Kayla Bowen stepped up to the plate, generating enough contact on the groundball to score Avila and cut the Houston lead to six, trailing 9-3. Maya Martinez came up to bat next and blasted her third home run of the season, scoring Taylor from third and turning it into a 9-5 ballgame.

After a shutout fifth inning, a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth chased King from the game as she finshed with a final stat line of 4.0 innings pitched allowing four runs with four strikeouts.

In the top of the seventh, Martinez recorded her third RBI of the day with a double deep into the left-field gap, scoring Avila from second and trimming the Cougar lead down to five runs. Paige Knight followed up with a ground ball down the left-field line that squeezed through the third baseman's legs, allowing Martinez to easily cross the plate and make it a four-run ballgame. Houston would eventually end the inning and game on a groundout - earning the 11-7 victory.

Game Two | NM State 5, UNLV 13 (5 innings)
The Aggies met UNLV for the second time in as many days, with NM State dropping the decision, 13-5.

Laurali Patane (0-3) got the start for NM State, allowing seven runs (six earned) before Felicia De La Torre and Jordin King came in and handled the bulk of the game action. De La Torre finished with a stat line of five runs allowed with two strikeouts in 1.1 innings, while King went 2.0 innings, recording two strikeouts and allowing one run (unearned).

Jenny Bressler (8-1) picked up the win for the Rebels, going 3.2 innings without allowing a hit and recording four strikeouts.

Ramsay Lopez kept her hot streak going, starting the game with a double through the gap, before Yazzy Avila got aboard with an infield single, moving Lopez to third. Avila then stole second to put two in scoring position. Maya Martinez made it easy on the runners by hitting a deep shot to left field to give the Aggies an early 3-0 lead.

The Rebels used a trio of extra-base hits to put six runs on the board before recording their first out of the inning. Laurali Patane was able to get two quick outs before an RBI double made it a 7-3 ballgame. Felicia De La Torre came in to relieve Patane and ultimately ended the inning with a strikeout.

Gabby Aragon started the second in the batter's box, drawing a walk before a successful bunt by Jayleen Burton moved her into scoring position. Lopez came in and hit her second double of the game, scoring Aragon from second to make it 7-4. Yazzy Avila then loaded the bases with a bunt before Maya Martinez grounded into a sacrifice RBI that scored Burton and shrank the Rebel lead to two. UNLV made a substitution to their third pitcher of the game and recorded a pair of outs to end the top half of the second inning. Felicia De La Torre came back to the circle recording a first-pitch flyout before a pair of home runs to centerfield and an RBI triple made it an 11-5 ballgame. A flyout to centerfield ended the inning.

In the bottom of the third, the Rebels added another run after a solo home run off Felicia De La Torre made the score 12-5 in favor of the Rebels. Jordin King came in to relieve De La Torre and King recorded a strikeout and flyout to end the third.

The next inning, the Rebels lead-off hitter reached on an error and advanced to third. Later in the inning, UNLV hit a single up the middle making the score 13-5 and, in turn, ending the game.
