LAS CRUCES, N.M.– Over the weekend, the NM State baseball team won three of four against Prairie View A&M. On Monday morning, the Aggies picked up three more wins– the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week award and a pair of Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week honors.

The conference office named Pablo Cortes the WAC Pitcher of the Week following his spotless spot-start on Saturday. Normally a reliever for the Aggies, Cortes worked a complete game shutout in the first game of a doubleheader.

Cortes allowed just four hits over 7.0 innings of work. Through the first two innings of action, Cortes needed just 10 pitches to control the Panther lineup. The spot-start was just the third appearance in the crimson and white for Cortes. Prior to Saturday, the sophomore had thrown 3.0 innings on the season, allowing just one hit. Cortes struck out five in 2.0 innings against UIC on February 19 before throwing an inning against Oakland on February 26.

The Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico became the first Aggie to be recognized by the conference office as a Player of the Week this season.

Logan Gallina and Gunner Antillon both were named to the Collegiate Baseball National Players of the Week list. The duo combined to go 17-33 at the plate with seven doubles, two triples, three home runs, and 15 RBI in the four-game set.

Gallina launched three home runs out of Presley Askew Field and drove in 11 runs throughout the four-game set. In Sunday's contest, Gallina ripped a pair of doubles before hitting a home run in the eighth inning.

A product of Laguna Niguel, California, Gallina was also in consideration for WAC Hitter of the Week honors.

The nation's leader in doubles per game, Gunner Antillon, laced five doubles and a pair of triples in the series. Antillon recorded four hits on Friday to kick off his trio of multi-hit games in the series.

Hitting .488 on the season, the Rancho Cucamonga, California native leads the Aggies in hitting on the season. Nationally, Antillon is tied for second with eight doubles.

Earlier this year, Sammy Natera earned a pair of National Pitcher of the Week honors.
