Final Results
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Powered by Alison Gastelum's final round score of 76 (+4), the NM State women's golf team closed out its run at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational Tuesday at the Chambers Bay Golf Course.
Gastelum finished tied for 21st in the final individual standings to lead the way for the Aggies. As a whole, NM State shot 321 (+33) on the second and final day of the two-day tournament to finish in 11th place among the 18 competing teams.
Among the three WAC teams in competition at the tournament, NM State finished second. The Aggies were just a single stroke behind Grand Canyon (309-312-313=934) for 10th place and bettered Seattle U's 16th-place score of 320-310-322=952 (+88).
Round Three
• Both Arantza Armas and Amelia McKee came out strong on the front nine, shooting 38 (+1). McKee started her day with a birdie while Armas' birdie on the front nine came on hole eight.
• Gastelum penciled in a total of four birdies - two on the front nine and another pair in the back nine - to account for her score of 76 through the final 18 holes.
• Armas and McKee fired identical scores of 81 (+9) in the final round while Valentina Origel (85, +13) and Meiji Tungprapunvong (83, +11) helped the Aggies close out their run at the two-day tournament.
