RESULTS
LOS ANGELES, CA - After a day of sending student-athletes to four different meets across Los Angeles, the Aggies returned to the Jack Rose Track at Long Beach State for the final day of the Beach Invitational.
Makiya Moore (Discus),
Kaitlyn Ward (Discus),
Israel Swanson (400m hurdles),
Aliyah Logan (100m hurdles), and
Grace Pendarvis (100m dash) captured second place finishes in their respective heats, while Pendarvis (18
th overall),
Valissa Brown (13
th, 100m hurdles) Logan (15
th), and Moore (16
th) posted top-20 finishes in highly competitive events.
100m Dash
Grace Pendarvis took second in her heat and 18
th overall, finishing with a wind-adjusted time of 11.99 (+0.7 m/s).
Sierra Brewer crossed the line third in her heat with a wind-adjusted time of 12.22 (+0.7 m/s).
100m Hurdles
Valissa Brown took third in her heat with a wind-assisted time of 13.76 (+2.8 m/s) and
Aliyah Logan took second in hers with a time of 13.85 (+1.9 m/s) to pace the Aggies among a field of 82, taking 13
th and 15
th respectively and setting new personal bests in the process.
400m Dash
Terice Steen led the way for the Aggies, taking 28
th in a field of 78 and fourth in her heat with a time of 57.01.
Takiyah Johnson took seventh in the same heat, finishing with a time of 58.17.
Jahnya Hill managed a seventh place finish in her heat with a time of 58.98.
400m Hurdles
Israel Swanson set a new personal best with a time of 1:02.79, good for second in her heat and 22
nd overall in a field of 59.
Breanna Moss takes third in her heat with a time of 1:06.45.
4x400 Relay
The team consisting of
Jhana Downie,
Thulisile Amon,
Sheyenne Drake,
Breanna Moss grabbed fourth place, finishing with a time of 3:45.90.
Shot Put
Rebecca Green recorded a sixth place finish in her heat, finishing 26
th overall in a field of 73 with a toss of 14.12m.
Kaitlyn Ward posted a fifth place finish in her heat with a toss of 12.21m.
Discus Toss
Makiya Moore was the top finisher for the Crimson & White, taking second in her flight and 16
th overall in a field of 78 with a toss of 48.61m.
Kaitlyn Ward captured second place in her flight with a toss of 44.47m, recording a new personal record in the process.
