Seattle, Wash. – Day two of the WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Husky Track has concluded and three more Aggies advanced into Saturday's finals following the four that qualified on Thursday evening.
Aliyah Logan was the first member of the Crimson & White to secure a spot in the finals, taking fourth overall in the 100m hurdles.
Jhana Downie (400m Dash) and
Grace Pendarvis (100m Dash) joined Logan in the finals after winning their respective heats.
NM State team placed third after compiling 19 points across three events in day one (Hammer, Javelin, 10,000m).
Phethisang Makhethe scored ten points after winning the hammer throw with a toss of 62.86 meters,
Makiya Moore recorded five points off her fourth-place finish (51.53m),
Maggie Gibbs secured three points with her school record time of 34:13.56 in the 10,000m run, and
Mariah Humphrey acquired a point after placing eighth in the javelin with a mark of 40.59m.
100m Hurdle – Prelims
Aliyah Logan secured a spot in Saturday's finals with a time of 13.90, good for second in her heat and fourth overall.
400m Dash – Prelims
Jhana Downie earned her place in the 400m dash finals after winning her heat with a time of 55.66.
100m Dash – Prelims
Grace Pendarvis qualified for the finals after winning her heat with a time of 11.94.
3000m Steeplechase
Richelle Sandin set a new personal best, posting a time of 11:05.81.
