RIVERSIDE, Calif. –  The weekend woes continued for NM State baseball on Sunday as an early lead slipped away for the third loss of the weekend.

The Aggies jumped out to an early 3-0 lead over California Baptist. After Brandon Dieter opened the game with his 12th double of the season, he scored on a throwing error by the Lancer catcher. Tommy Tabak bounced into a fielder's choice, scoring Gunner Antillon from third. In one of the most impressive plays of the season for the Aggies, Logan Gallina stole home in a double steal, giving NM State its third run of the inning.

After California Baptist got a run back in the bottom of the first, NM State pushed a run across in the second inning to push the lead back to three. Dieter lifted his fourth sacrifice fly of the season to center field, scoring Cal Kilgore.

With the Aggies leading 4-1, the resilient California Baptist offense exploded once again. Scoring 11 unanswered runs, the Lancers ran away with the Sunday contest. The Aggies scored runs in the eighth and ninth innings but it was too little, too late.
