Regional Ready: NM State to Take On Loaded Field in Albuquerque

The seventh regional appearance in eight years will be no small task for NM State.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - After winning the WAC Women's Golf Championship, the NM State women's golf team heads north to Albuquerque to compete in NCAA Regionals. The lone team to represent the state of New Mexico, the Aggies have an edge on the competition having played the UNM Championship Course earlier this season.

TEEING OFF
• NM State will be making its seventh NCAA Regional appearance in the last eight seasons after winning the WAC tournament.
• The Albuquerque Regional is loaded with top teams from across the country. No. 2 Oregon, No. 11 Florida, No. 13 Texas, and No. 23 Arizona all remain inside the top 25 nationally.
• Every member competing for the Aggies has played at the UNM Championship Course in the last calendar year.
• Valentina Origel will kick off competition for the Aggies at 8:55 a.m. on Monday morning. Origel will be followed by Meiji Tungprapunvong, Arantza Armas Stenner, Alison Gastelum, and Amelia McKee.
• On Monday, the Aggies will be paired with Sam Houston and Northern Arizona. At the WAC Women's Golf Championship, the Aggies defeated Sam Houston by three strokes.
• The Aggies will begin the opening day of regionals on the tenth hole. Also teeing off at 8:55 on hole one will be Louisville, North Texas, and Oklahoma.
