ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The fall season is officially in full swing for the NM State men's golf program. After 36 holes at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, the Aggies sit in a tie for place with Colorado. After the opening round, the Aggies were tied with in-state rival and tournament host New Mexico in fourth place, shooting 290 as a program.
Not only were there plenty of birdies, NM State had a couple of eagle sightings on Monday.
Javier Delgadillo highlighted the Aggies' opening round when he sank an eagle on his 14th hole – The finale for his first 18.
Garrison Smith joined in on the action when he eagled the 18th in the second round. The eagle pushed Smith to three-under for the tournament as he continued to climb the leaderboard.
Garrison Smith was extremely steady for the Aggies in the first 18 holes, finishing one-under. One of the staples in the NM State lineup, Smith caught fire in the second round. Smith rallied to fire off two eagles in the second round to finish three-under after 36 holes. Entering the final day, Smith sits in a tie for 11th place.
In his return to Albuquerque and the UNM Championship course,
Alexandre Bauduin got off to a fast start, birdieing hole one to go under par. Bauduin rounded out his opening round with a pair of birdies on holes 14 and 16 to shoot a 74 (+4).
Aidan Thomas, the defending William H. Tucker Intercollegiate champion, got out to a hot start in the second round, birdieing twice in the first three holes. From there, Thomas would hold steady for the next seven holes and finished the round one-over.

Alvaro Morales led all players after the opening round on Par 3's, averaging 2.5 strokes over the first 18 holes.

Garrison Smith shot a 71 to pace NM State in the opening round. The one-under put Smith in a tie for 10th place.
Round Two Notes
- Smith carded a pair of eagles in the second round and now sits tied for 11th.
- NM State is averaging 3.13 strokes on Par 3's – Tied with Denver for the best in the field.
- Smith is tied with one other player for the most eagles in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate and has recorded 27 pars – Second most in the field.
- As a team, NM State slipped four spots in the second round and enters the final day tied for eighth place.
- NM State will tee off at 12:30 p.m. MT for Saturday's final round.
