Mosher Earns Spot on Hungarian Professional Club Team

Former Aggie middle blocker Lia Mosher to make pro debut on Wednesday.

BÉKÉSCSABA, Hungary – One of the most prolific middle blockers in the history of the Aggies' program has officially landed herself a spot at the next level.

On Wednesday, Jan. 11, Lia Mosher will make her debut with Hungarian club team Swietelsky-Békéscsaba after landing in Budapest just one week ago. With the accomplishment, Mosher becomes the fourth Aggie to make it to the professional ranks after playing for Mike Jordan at NM State.

During her career with the Aggies, Mosher racked up the third most blocks in program history with 469 total blocks across six seasons in Las Cruces, N.M. Mosher also ranks third all-time in block assists (390) and ninth in solo blocks (79). Offensively, Mosher is one of the most efficient hitters to have ever worn Crimson & White as her .348 hitting percentage is good for second all-time among Aggie attackers.

Mosher also played a key role in leading the Aggies to three straight WAC regular season titles and helped the Aggies earn an NCAA Tournament berth in 2019. Additionally, the Ruidoso native was named First Team All-WAC twice in her career and picked up WAC All-Tournament Team and AVCA All-Region Honors in 2021.
